Physical and health education provide lifetime learning opportunities that can benefit all students. Health education interconnects these five areas: spiritual health, physical health, mental health, social health, and emotional health. All five areas are taught with a Christian lifestyle perspective which affects attitudes, values, and behaviors. Positive health decisions and habits developed as a teenager contribute to a life of wellness.
Physical education involves not only learning about physical fitness and lifetime recreation activities, but also the development and use of skills and proficiencies for participation in a variety of those activities. Learning includes Christian values regarding care for our bodies. Social and emotional skills are taught in close interaction with fellow classmates. Knowledge of the benefits of physical activity are applied resulting in healthy lifestyles.
Both physical and health education support the philosophy of providing challenging learning opportunities which strive toward achieving excellence and preparing the next generation of Christian leaders.
